Dan's Letter Replying
to Our Xmas Booklet
2003

Read Japanese Translation - 日本語訳ページ
I received this letter from Dan on Jan 29, 2004, with a Warner Bros. official portrait of Dan. I'm so flattered he liked our Christmas booklet for him, and I can't believe he kindly mentioned our website - of course after the first part, the text is his all-purpose newsletter to fans, but still it is a great honor :-) It's amazing he is so polite to his fans and cares them.
I can't stress enough that he responded to our handmade booklet that over 30 Japanese fans contributed. Thanks to everybody who participated!!

Daniel Radcliffe

9 January 2004

(My name & address), Japan

Dear XXX(my real name),

HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and everyone who visits CHARMED BY DAN RADCLIFFE. Thank you so much for the beautiful booklet - it truly took my breath away and I will always treasure it. Thank you for the 29 messages enclosed in the booklet and thank you to the 7 people who hand made the mini cards. To (a participant's name)**, the christmas tree is beautiful- a work of art! I am overwhelmed by your kindness and feel very honoured to have such loyal fans in Japan

I also appreciate the donation you have made to Demelza House - a special place with people who make a difference..

As I am sure you know, I answered 100 questions from two websites - Danradcliffe.com and danradcliffe.co.uk - just before Christmas. I had great fun answering them, so if you haven't yet seen them, do give these two great websites a visit. Without a doubt, I had some of the most interesting questions I have ever been asked, since I started playing Harry Potter.

I had a lovely quiet Christmas catching up with my friends. It has been a very busy year. I then went to Venice with my parents to celebrate the New Year and stayed there for a week. I loved it! It's an amazing place and one I can't wait to return to.

I've seen some great films recently, including COLD MOUNTAIN, THE STATION AGENT, BIG FISH, GIRL WITH THE PEARL EARRING and LOST IN TRANSLATION.

Thank you for thinking of me.

I hope you have a fantastic 2004!

Best wishes,
Daniel (signature)

Note* There was no period at the end of the first paragraph.
** The participant who is mentioned here is actually mis-spelled (sorry, Dan, for pointing out) but we assume it means Amagumo, who kindly made 4 origami (paper folding art) crabs for the project, to decorate the booklet with some traditional Japanese taste. They were so exquisiste!! I made a small foldable paper Xmas tree with and stuck the paper crabs on it, and sent it with the booklet. I mentioned her in my explanation letter because she is a very busy webmistress of Morenabe, a very popular Harry fansite in Japanese. She also contributed a handmade mini card.

Our Xmas booklet was sent by registered express mail to the Leavesden studios on Dec. 10, 2003.
