Dan's Reply to Birthday Wish 2003

　Here's the letter I received on July 22 with the name of Daniel himself on it, replying to our birthday message poster which was sent to him earlier this month. How exciting it was to read! I nearly got a heart attack when I realised!!
　I normally don't reveal people's mail on the site considering their privacy, but I decided to type up all this letter from Dan for mainly two reasons: Firstly, the message seems just so fantastic, mentioning his recent interests and events, and I don't believe it contains any particular info that I can't share with other Dan/Harry Potter film fans. Secondly, there shouldn't be any misunderstanding quuoting him, so I think it would be better people read the actual words, rather than something indirect.
Thank you so much Dan!!! I couldn't stop screaming for quite a long time!! ;D. It's pure pleasure being your fan. Also, big thank you to the people who handled our messages!

Please thank everyone who contributed to that fantastic message poster you sent me for my birthday - I was really thrilled to receive it, and will put it up in my dressingroom at the Studio. Thanks also for the Superman stickers.

I am thoroughly enjoying working on the PRISONER OF AZKABAN with Alfonso Cuaron who is creating a very exciting movie. I have recently been shooting the Shrieking Shack scenes with Gary Oldman, Timothy Spall, Alan Rickman and David Thewlis. It is a very intense scene and I couldn't believe I was in the same room as there actors!

How exciting was the build up to the launch of THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX? I LOVED it!!!!!! I locked myself in my bedroom and didn't stop reading it (apart from meal breaks!) What a novel!!

Music still occupies a lot of my time and I am currently into THE PIXIES, THE DANDY WARHOLS, THE STROKES and THE KINGS OF LEON.

I've also seen X-MEN2, BRUCE ALMIGHTY and BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE which I thought was fantastic.

Recently reports appeared in the Press that I am not doing the GOBLET OF FIRE. This is rubbish. I really don't know where these stories come from but it just goes to prove that you shouldn't believe everything you read in newspapers.

I hope you have a fantastic summer and you continue to enjoy the Harry Potter films as much as I enjoy making them.

To see our birthday message poster, click here and here on this page (b-day event 2003 page in English). 62 Japanese-speaking Dan fans (including me) wrote short birthday wishes online and I was honored to translate most of messages that were written in Japanese into English, and then stick them together and mail it. It was sent to the Studios in early July.
